Bar La Broussaille has not changed much in the three years since I last reviewed it. The pink building is still small and cramped. Private dances are still $10 per song. There is still no cover charge. The majority of entertainers are still ebony. The empty Bell phone booth is even still outside the building!

I dropped in at 22:30 on a Monday night. The doorman escorted me to the bar, and I tipped him with a toonie. A Sincweiser was $9. The club offers two-for-one drinks five times per day: 11:00 to 12:00, 14:00 to 14:30, 17:00 to 17:30, 21:00 to 21:30, and 00:30 to 01:00. A small bar is straight ahead and to the right as you enter. The single-pole stage is along the back wall. The rest of the room is made up of tables, chairs, and booths. This is a nude club, and all dancers get fully nude on stage and during private dances.

There were twelve dancers working on my most recent visit. Nine out of the twelve dancers were black. La Broussaille has a reputation for being Quebec City’s urban club, as 75% of the talent is of African heritage and the music is almost entirely hip hop. There were dancers from Haiti, Martinique, Guadeloupe, Jamaica, and several countries that were former French African colonies. The line-up will have you going cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs! Many dancers are bilingual, but a few only speak French. Dancers generally top out at a 7 rating. With that said, dancers are generally friendlier here than competing clubs and better mileage can be had. While some dancers at the airport clubs and Cabaret Lady Mary Ann tend to overcount dances, I’ve never experienced that hustle at La Broussaille. Dancers from out of town live in the residences on the north side of the parking lot. Some dancers come from Montreal to work here, while others are locals.
