Showcase Is as Showcase Was - Dated, but Reliable

I parked in the lot alongside of the club inside the fence. Really early or really late there will typically be spaces in there. If you've ever spent time at Showcase, walking into this club is like walking into a time warp. Everything in the main dance area is laid out exactly the same as you'll remember. Even the couches in front of the main stage are still there, except they're not as broken down (for now). There's a lamp that looks really out of place in the $20 lapdance area so it's bright as blazes over there now. Didn't seem to phase the customers getting dances in the cheap seats, but that's why customers can't have nice things. I wouldn't get dances over there because it was bad enough in the old days with guys staring at what was going on during the lappers. The tables and chairs are still little cafe style deals, with a row of chairs along the back wall opposite the stage. Every time I drop back in this club it feels smaller and smaller.

This club is still known for the same thing it's been known for as far back as I can remember. $20 bikini lapdances in an open corner on an uncomfortable chair that will rub the dye off your pants. Grind. Grind. Grind. The only difference between the club now and 20 years ago is a few more VIP options under a blacklight in side rooms. Those are an upgrade over the beat up armchairs that were their first attempt at a VIP area, and with the right girl you can probably make something happen but there's cameras back there that do get watched over at the dry bar. YMMV. Dances in the VIP area are $30 topless and $40 full nude unless you work a deal. The VIP areas are separated by black curtains, and the one the dancer I took walked me to had a little set of shelves beside the couch. This place was never known for its lighting, but the main part of the club almost seemed dreary. The most lit area was the lapdance corner, and that's the exact opposite of how I prefer strip clubs to be set up.

These days you can bring your alcohol inside again, but you still have to walk outside to pour it into a cup. I didn't really stick around when I visited long enough for it to matter, but did get dances in the front VIP area behind the entry booth that were decent. The girls were generally young and several were hot, but the dancer I wanted to try bailed early so I wouldn't say I got the best sampling of talent that night. I'd say the club could use a facelift, kind of like what they did with Fantasies up in Baltimore, but then I'm not sure it would be Showcase anymore. The club is what it is, and doesn't try to be anything else. You show up, pick a girl, and she grinds on you until you're good to go or run out of money. They'll keep you company, too, but there's other clubs I'd rather hang out in than here. I paid $20 to get in the door. Used to be you could pay less if you show up late, but considering you're not getting hounded for drinks, tip the girls, etc $20 at the door isn't bad.
