Spicy Babes Rides Again after Recovering from the Emergency Room!
This club is the latest incarnation of the club which was last good when it was called Babes, and last decent when it was called Spice. When the club was called Emergency Room, someone was actually killed out in the parking lot. Names and words matter, inside and outside of a club. Then it was called something (Recovery Room?) else before it closed and reopened under the current brand. There is no cover during the day. I don't know what the cover is at night because I haven't had to pay it.
Capisce is a club that tries hard. The manager and house mom try hard, the night waitress, the bartender, and even the bouncer/doorman try hard to present a professional club. The DJ at night keeps things moving, and the place got a noticeable facelift under the new management. It's also a club where a dancer fight might spill out of the dressing room and happen feet away from where you're sitting at the main bar. The part of town this club isn't great, but it's not that far away from the Palace where you don't really hear of anything bad happening. It's not a "black club", but a lot of the dancers and customers are minorities. I like the club, but don't myself going there that often because the two best clubs in town are literally within within a five minute drive (and neither are Palace, I'd put it fourth after Sugars). Clubs I'd put ahead of this one in town. Rick's, Mens Club, Sugars, Palace, Tiffany's, Perfect 10, All Stars (I don't even like All Stars), and then this place is maybe in the mix. There's a new club called Monte Carlo that is supposed to have dancers, but haven't seen it yet. Drink prices were ok, I'd say midrange. If you're buying for you and a dancer, expect to pay north of $10 no matter what you order for liquor. I didn't buy a beer. Some of the barstools are also a little wobbly. Be aware if you are a heavy person or a lightweight drinker.
About the club, the bones are not that much different than all the other variations back to Babes. I don't remember the main stage being in the middle of the club, so that is newer (but maybe not brand new). I can't remember if that stage was there when the club was Spice. At night that's where the dancers rotate and the DJ announces them by name. The old main stage is still there, taking up nearly the entire wall to the right of the club when you walk in. There are two poles, and there were multiple dancers up on stage mainly messing around on dayshift. The DJ booth is also there when they have one on night shift. During the day they have a playlist going, and don't be surprised if the dancers mess with it randomly because they're practicing their poles tricks and putting stuff up on social media set to music. The place is pretty laid back, so it has that going for it. The strippers are hanging out with customers when not dancing rather than on their phones or in the dressing room. One dancer I got a couple of dances from (and would have gotten more) wandered off to do a shot then got pulled into some impromptu photo op over on the stage. The customer who was there was actually being really obnoxious and desperate trying to get her attention, so it was easier just to let her go because he clearly wasn't going to wait peacefully. We actually stopped doing dances the first time because he kept eye-fucking her from the bar which made her uncomfortable, but I digress.
