Not My Day, But Worth The Visit
I haven't been back to Ruby's very much, but had to stop by Bridgeport on business, and so I thought that I'd give it a try; last few visits were pretty good. Ruby's doesn't get reviewed very often, so let me go though the basics. The club is two large rooms, one holds a large rectangular bar, and the other one has a stage, pool tables and regular tables. There is a half wall between the two rooms, and so you can watch the stage show from the bar. If you want to, you can go up to the half wall, and interact with the dancers there, while you stand. If you feel like sitting, you go up to the second room, and sit at the stage, and interact that way. Most patrons stand at the half wall. I've trued both, and like the half wall better.
Ruby's is one of the few full nude bars in Connecticut (though dancers rarely get full nude on stage anymore), and the law says that a full nude bar cannot serve alcohol. So, you can buy juice, water or a red bull, but no beer or wine. You can bring your own, though, and so most people leave a bottle of vodka, tequila, etc behind the bar, and Ruby's will give it back to you for a small pouring fee. I usually pick up a 6 pack, drop it off as I go in, and pay $2 a bottle, plus a tip. Then, they serve it back to me, one bottle at a time. During the week, they serve a lunch buffet, but I don't think its particularly good. I might try it, but have never been impressed. More often than not, it upsets my stomach, and so I usually stay away.
The girls are all right...a little older and chunkier than most guys would prefer, but they get the job done. Every now and then I run into a very cute babe, and that makes it worth the visit. Last few times, I have gotten dances with Serenity, a thin, very cute girl who is smart, interesting and a lot of fun in the private dance area. I was hoping that she would be there, but not today.
