I had an excuse to be out on Super Sunday, and decided to pop into the new club to check it out. Obviously the scene at the time is not typical of a Sunday night, so I'll stick mostly to club description and a few other observations. (I can't help but also make comparisons to Expose, although the Red Rose is under totally new management by the Yellow Rose people.)

First of all the remodel is really nice. While Expose was kind of neighborhood-divey, Red Rose looks like a fancy, if small, strip club. Furniture and carpet look all new, bar areas look like they got a remodel, and everything is bathed in red light that give it a "fancy nightclub" vibe. The barstools look like what you'd see at one of Austin's new cool bars. Layout: as you walk in, the main bar area is to the right, the stage is in front of you, some cabanas and a dance area are to the left. Beyond the stage to the left is another smaller bar (an addition in the remodel) and a couple more couches for lappers (more about these later). I think there's just one stage (pool shaped instead of Expose's octagon) with two poles.

Not sure why I expected otherwise, but when I came in they had the Super Bowl going, sound up and everything. Place was packed with a mostly young crowd watching the game, including a large co-ed group of KC fans who were pumped about the last quarter. (I wish I had been there during the now-infamous halftime show, just for the meta experience of watching J-Lo pole dance on TV while in a strip club).
