So I have developed a pattern in hitting the Dearborn Inkster triangle made up of the three dives in the airport area, Cricket, Boggie’s and Henry’s N. All three places are within about 3 miles, with Bogarts and Hanks just a mile part. If I am traveling from Detroit, I head out 94 and if traffic is flowing I drive to the western point on the triangle and stop at Bogarts first. If traffic is bad, I exit 94 and stop at cricket first, knowing I can move west on Michigan Avenue if SC isn’t clicking. If it is a Monday and I make it west, I start w Henry’s since there seems to be better activity there on Monday due to the ten dollar dance special (that no one really uses, ten dollar dances are typically air dances and you aren’t at any of these three places for an air dance).

On this trip last week, I make it to Bogarts as my first stop. The parking lot is not the worst in the area only because Henry N is so terrible you can lose a wheel in the potholes. You don’t pay for parking, just drive carefully and if you don’t drive a monster truck be careful parking along the side of the building since the curb stop are super high and can make a mess of your front end.

Enter and pay the $5 cover, no turnstile this time, not sure if that is permanent or the device was out for service. The greeter is plenty friendly and gives you a ticket that is important to hold in your hand. You need to give it to the server when you get your first drink. Watching the rookies try to figure out where they put their drink ticket can be entertaining and clearly marks you as a rookie. Beers domestic or import are $6.75, cheaper than the water so like I do in Mexico I drink beer not water. Servers are very nice, but if you get to the last 10% of your beverage you will be hounded for another. Just nurse it if you want some time and don’t want 60 ounces of liquid flowing through you by the time you leave. Drink specials are fairly frequent during days, but are often buy one get second for $3 or buy drink and get a shot for $3-5. My visits aren’t long enough to make those specials sensible. As many others have noted smoke here is prevalent. Ashtrays are at a premium and small styrofoam cups were being used by many patrons on this visit. I try to keep my visits here short when I worry the stench will make it clear where I was, as far as I can tell, strip clubs and casinos are the only places where folks smoke inside. Most times I don’t want to give the impression I was at either.

This place enforces the finale regularly, maybe after every 2-3 rotations. Every available girl on stage save the dancer(s) in the next rotation and those that are in the VIP. Tops down, but most just robotically wander their stage or talk to their fellow peelers. Still, the finale is how you get the best sense of what might be in front of you and how I counted 12 gals in the facility when I was there.

The girls were in the 5-7 range if spinners are your type, more AA girls in the athletic build than other skin tones. .I’m a funbags guy and for me the pickings were very limited. In fact, other than the usual mid to late 40’s gals carrying both jugs and guts, there was only one that stood out for me. She was on the side stage near the restroom when I entered. AA tiny butt and very disproportionate hangers, natural from my vantage point. I waited for her four song set to end, made eye contact but got a flyby gal who sat at my empty seat before I could get my interest, Diamond I think, formerly Cricket for sure, to move my way. It took several minutes to move this uninvited gal along, Diamond is now occupied. I get one more slide in while I am waiting and she would have been worth a VIP visit if I wasn’t set on someone else. Unfortunately, by the time my second beer was almost done I still had not made the connection with Diamond. Having outstayed my max smoke absorption point and having turned away my only other interest, I moved on. Not a loss, I had some time to burn, spent less than $25 on two beer and entry fee and made my way to Henry’s where the smoke and the lineup that I saw had me moving on to my Oakland County appointment quickly w a full pocket of cash and my windows down to blow out the smoke. I will be back.
