A Good Lunch but Nothing Else.
It's been a long time since I wrote a review. As my travel ended a year ago so did most of my clubbing. I rarely go out in my own city. It's sad.
Therefore, when I found myself off today and in the neighborhood of Rick's, I thought I was fortunate. I'd never been there for lunch and heard good things about it. Unfortunately though, this will be more of a restaurant review than a club review. Even with the staff being exceedingly nice, friendly and welcoming, there were no dancers. I didn't really expect much since it was noon the day after New Years Day but I didn't expect nothing. No, wait, once my eyes got adjusted to the dark, there was one girl giving a lap dance in a back corner and the guy just kept her there throughout my meal.
My salad was good and surprisingly so was the veggie burger - actually one of the best veggie burgers I've ever had. There were other entres but having eaten so much over the holidays, I needed a break. The Carrot cake was good too, it didn't have that 'been sitting in the refrigerator' taste but seemed fresh. Lunch is a prix fix at $15 which is good for 3 courses. My sprite was $8 though (got a free refill) and I had a Dewars after the meal which was another $8, plus tax my bill was $39 before tip.
