This will be a summary of the last 6-10 times that I have been to Dreamgirls over the last 3 years.

I generally go on either Friday or Saturday evenings, so I can't comment on the dayshift – the club is surprisingly empty early on in the evenings for being so centrally located downtown If you show up before 10, it will seem to be a ghost town, with maybe 5 dancers working and only a few PL scattered around the club. After 11 a lot more dancers roll in, and by maybe midnight things seem to have hit their stride where it doesn't feel like a ghost town.

Dreamgirls is located just across from the light rail station near Hennepin avenue, situated upstairs from a bar called “Sneaky Petes”. The entry door is between the bar and the pizza joint, and leads to a staircase. At the top, you pay a $10 cover (still outside the club to a dude in a window), and then head inside where you are required to buy a nonalcoholic beverage for $13. Free refills of pop are available, but if you want Red Bull or bottled water, you will need to pay for them.
