Not So Different Than Before
It's been a while since I visited the Playhouse, having heard that it wasn't as much fun as before. My experience says those concerns are unfounded.
For those who haven't been, the Playhouse is a BYOB juice bar type of place. When you enter, you find the stage, with a couple of poles, inside the big rectangular bar. There are private dance rooms in the very back, and a couple along one wall. Signage indicates that there is a cover at night, and that people are wanded when they go in, but I don't think I've ever encountered either of these things at any time of the day or night that I've gone there.
I sat down and got a coke and watched a reasonably attractive dancer on stage; Playhouse has a very, very wide range of talent, with varying ages, races, physiques and nationalities on stage on any given visit. The typical flow of a visit to the Playhouse is that a dancer will be up for two songs, possibly topless for at least the second song, but not necessarily, and then will go around the bar visiting each patron looking for a tip ("the dollar parade," as it's often referred to). For most dancers, this is also an opportunity for an offer of a visit to a private room, at $30/song. The offer may be accompanied by the "Playhouse handshake," which involves her hand, but not yours.
