End of the line

BJs is the last of its kind in Minneapolis and they are nearing the end of the line. This place is set to close by Christmas after a long time push by the City of Minneapolis to limit club locations to a few areas in downtown. It’s a shame because BJs offered something unique in Minneapolis.

BJs in located in North Minneapolis in an older commercial/industrial area. Parking in their lot or on the street is free. The area is very blue collar, as is the clientele.

I stopped in one recent afternoon and, as always, there was no afternoon cover charge. This place is just a bar with titties. It’s unpretentious. The place has pull tabs, meat raffles and a bunch of pool tables. And it has titties. The place was busier than any other club in Minneapolis is in the early afternoon but the majority of patrons seemed to be just hanging out to have a beer with their friends or coworkers. A can of Miller was $5. An even $5, unlike most other places. The have a pretty full bar but no tap beer, all cans or bottles.
