I've know about HVIII for over 27 years, but I hadn't stepped foot inside until a week ago and now I've been twice.

If you haven't read the other reviews, HVIII is a dive bar and it looks like nothing has been remodeled since the day they opened. From when you first pull into the parking lot, you can see it's functional, but not in great repair. This is how everything will be as you go inside. Fortunately, there's no valet so you save a few pennies there.

As you enter the club, there's a turnstile and you have to $5 admission to get in. I showed up at noon and there's no discount for being early. Also, this is my first clue they haven't remodeled in forever. There's no way this small turnstile meets modern accessibility guidelines. I don't know what you'd do if you were of size or wheelchair bound.
