Landing Strip-- Solid, mid-tier option in Metro Detroit

Landing Strip has been my "go to" club over the past year. This is a composite review of probably 6 or more visits, mostly in the afternoon of various weekdays.

The club is located in a safe downtown area of a small town, Romulus, that is located just to the west of Detroit Metro Airport. There is a mandatory valet (7 dollars) in spite of ample and safe parking in the downtown area. I understand the rationale for this (makes a few extra dollars for the club and prevents rowdy patrons from wandering around the downtown area in search of their cars), but it is a bit of an unnecessary tack on expense.

You enter the building on the ground floor and hike up a set of stairs to the main club area. In the afternoon, admission to the club is free; I know that there is an admission charge in the evening but I don't recall the exact amount. Once on the second level, the club has a raised runway on which one, two or sometimes three dancers perform. Seating is available at the bar, in booths around the perimeter of the main room and as small tables that are adjacent to the stage area. Bathrooms are behind the DJ booth. During late afternoon and evening, there is often an attendant (AKA troll) in the bathroom. Drinks are overpriced-- but standard for most strip clubs. For example, a domestic beer or a bottle of water costs about $8.
