Not a bad place to get an afternoon beer

I had some time to kill in the area before I had to go back uptown and I had heard about Hoops so I decided to check it out. It was right next door to Rick’s and the bouncers were handing out cards so I didn’t have to pay a cover charge which was nice. When I got there, there were only one or two guys there and the dancers were talking amongst themselves. I ordered myself a $6 draft and thought about getting some food but I didn’t want to spend $18 for some buffalo wings.

I enjoyed the big screen TVs playing ESPN and anout ten minutes later, a Latina dancer sat down next to me and started chatting me up and I talked with her while I watched a thicker Puerto Rican dancer go on stage. Eventually a thinner, blonde dancer went up and I went to sit by the stage. She had a fun, flirtatious vibe and I could tell she was new at this but she was great to watch.

Afterwards I bought her an $8 cocktail and we sat and chatted together for quite some time (the club was not busy at all). Eventually I bought a few $20 dances (which were great but a little out in the open) and left but all in all it was a good trip. I’d visit again. Hopefully they do some repairs soon as the pole on stage was not securely fastened so the dancers didn’t use it much. All in all it was a relatively good and clean club.
