Bright interior, good variety of body types
Mpire is a crisp, clean, welcoming show club in an upscale DC neighborhood. Be aware, this is a no touching, no lap dance establishment - just set your expectations accordingly.
As many have noted, Mpire Club and Camelot are about 40 feet apart from each other in the upscale DuPont Circle neighborhood in DC NW. From the Metro Red Line Dupont Circle stop, the clubs are about a 5 minute walk downhill. Be sure to exit the station by following the signs for the “South” exit (NOT Q St.). There is a Wells Fargo ATM just to the left of the station exit if you need some cash. There are a few homeless and panhandlers, but nothing to be concerned with in this neighborhood. Parking is scarce, take Metro or Lyft.
The doorman was pleasant and welcoming. They scanned my driver’s license; I don’t like such recording. But, no cover so I’ll be a little more forgiving. The main level of the club is located on the 2nd floor of the typical DC row house building. As such, the club is about 4 times as deep as it is wide. Decor is clean, primarily white, and brightly lit. As you enter the room, to the right there is a small circular stage, the bar immediately next to the first stage, and then a second identical stage. There is a 2nd floor with shower rooms suspended over the main floor, but that level was not in use this night. Seating is available at the bar (maybe 8 seats?) and on the long couch which runs the depth of the room with small square tables arranged in front of the couch.
