Memorable Experience with Ana from Adelitas

I’ve been to TJ for over 20 years now and it continues to be great fun although a little different every time. For a guy who lives in the midwest, it is not the most convenient place to visit for the entertainment, but it certainly is a great time just about every time out there.

This trip was arriving for a Monday night, attending a trade show in San Diego, and then back before dawn to work the last day of the 3 day show. Over the 20 years, I’ve learned a few tricks that are worthwhile:

1) Use the Airport 992 bus to get from the Airport to the Blue Line trolley. It's $2.50 for the bus and then get the COMPASS transit card for the trolley at any kiosk. Will save you money later. It will take about 15 minutes max to get from the bus to the trolley stop at America Plaza but it's better than a $15 cab ride or $12 Uber. The trolley is also $2.50 and overall you can get from Airport to border in just over an hour most times of the day and sometimes shorter depending on traffic. You will be dropped at San Ysidro border trolley station which is right by PedEast. A cab / Uber ride from the airport to the border is about $35-40. I have done that before and regretted it since it was no faster and was so expensive.
