Over The Hump, or All Downhill From Here?
No cover because I visited during the day. They also did not scan my ID. Sat down at a chair against the wall and ordered a soda. Two-for-one and they spend about as much time with the soda gun as they do reminding dancers not to congregate on the wall and gossip. For those who haven't been in a while or ever, that means not at all. The soda was horribly flat, but I wasn't there for the drinks so I let them sit and the ice melt. But at least they were two-for-one. I tipped the waitress a few extra bucks and she left me alone the rest of my visit.
The club is worn down but comfy. The DJ plays a mix of music, rock and hip-hop mostly, and thankfully nothing weird or out there. I loves me some Captain Beefheart but it's not for dancing. The dancers at that point were doing one song per rotation, and there were quite a few dancers for a weekday afternoon.
And the reason I came was for the dancers, and though there were many unfamiliar faces, I recognized a few and a few of them recognized me. First up was a slim, fancy young lady who is friendly and sweet. We caught up for a spell before asking me if I wanted some dances. I allowed that I would and asked about going back to VIP. As she knows me, she advised that the dances weren't really worth it in the back, and I opted instead for a few on the floor. Enjoyable, but nothing to write home or anywhere else about.
