Recon for y'all
Club is located on 32nd St and Washington, pretty much off the beaten path. You’re never “accidentally” driving by this place and decide to stop in. Parking lot is large, clean, well paved and marked. While this part of Phoenix is sorta sketchy, there’s no danger here.
As you walk up to the wood and beveled glass double doors, it does not appear as though much as changed since the 3-4 years that this club closed and underwent a remodel. As always, with every Christie’s club, there is a cover charge, day or night. At 6 PM, when I arrived, the cover was $7. The cashier legitimately had trouble giving me my change from a $20 (she wasn’t trying to rip me off, she just couldn’t get the bills organized in her hand. “I hate cash” she said to me while smiling, so working as a cashier is a perfect job for her.
Walk through the doors into the main club and you see the changes. First off, the men’s room is straight ahead, no longer against the back wall of the club. There is much more open space in the new club. There’s no longer the sunken pit along the south side. The main floor is all one level now. Tables are scattered throughout the club, including a few booths with velvet ropes cordoning them off from the riff raff. Waitresses wait by the door to follow you to your table and give you some personal service. There’s a sign in the lobby that states “Two Drink Minimum” but I was never forced to get a second drink while I was there. I got a Coke ($5), who waited at my table after I ordered. Yes, you have to pre-pay for your drinks here, so be ready for that. I wonder how that will affect the waitresses’ tips.
