Probably too dead a time for a fair review
Back in St. Louis for a bit, I decided to try a couple of clubs I hadn't seen before, and the first one was Country Rock Cabaret, largely because it was so close to downtown St. Louis where I was staying. It's just across the river, and quite easy to get to. The final approach was mildly confusing, however. There are three clubs in a row, including Country Rock and Diamonds, with Pop's Nightclub (not a strip club). All are lit up and visible from the road. It feels like you can get to all of them from the same turn in, but Country Rock is further back and not accessible (at least obviously) from the vast parking lot and drive approaching the trio. You have to go to the corner and turn down the side street to get there.
I arrived on a Wednesday around 9:00pm, not a great time for any club, and it proved a poor time to try Country Rock. There was a metal detector, but no id check on the way in, and a $10 cover. The guy at the desk gave me a ticket and said it was good for entry at Dancers or PTs Showclub. The place was dead, with just a handful of patrons and even fewer dancers.
The club space itself was nice. From the entrance there's a bar ahead and then the club spreads out to the right. It's fairly large and on this evening was brightly lit. There are three good sized stages. The main/center one has no pole but had a small horizontal ring overhead. The stage on the left had a vertical ring, and the one on the right had a pole. There's seating throughout with comfortable chairs and good views of the stage. On the far right is a roped off area I assume intended for parties and such, with some couches and other group seating, another bar, and a penis rodeo bull. The music, true to the club's name, was a mix of country and rock, with the ratio varying a bit over time.
