Typical Wan Chai bar

This club is just like the other red curtain bars on Lockart road. They all operate in a similar way

The entrain is covered by a curtain ( usually red , but not always, hence the name). An old lady sitting in front trying to lure the customers. The clubs are generally narrow; a bar in front of a small stage occupies most of the club. On the stage there are some girls standing and moving in sexy dresses. They are not really dancing, just moving a bit. No stripping since that is not allowed by L.E.

A beer is still reasonably priced for such a joint at about 30-40 HKD (4-5 USD). Of course soon you will be approached by a girl) who wants a lady drink (in all bars I only encountered only Philippians, all good looking. These cost some 240HKD (30 USD). For that you can then sit with the lady in a partly enclosed booth; still open but also a bit of privacy. Generally in addition to the usual small talk they cuddle with you and allow kissing and fondling of the boobs (often the top come of). They drink there drink fast and soon ask for the next one. The more drinks you order the more they allow. The number of lady drinks is properly tracked by putting a slip with the price clearly marked in a glass for every drink. So the time of scamming on the numbers of drinks seems to be over. In the end they just count the slips and add a 10% service charge.

The main business model is however to get you to take the girl to your hotel room. I was quoted HKD 1500 for 1hr and HKD 2300 for 2 hrs. Long time was depending on at what hour you take the girl out
