Sports bar/strip club? Yeah, it could work.
After spending a couple of hours at Rick’s (review here: https://www.tuscl.net/review.php?id=359312), I walked into Hoops at about 330p. There were two dancers sitting at the bar talking to the female bartender and a dude working on the rap system. When the bouncer told me Hoops would open at 3p, he was technically correct, but barely so. With Rick’s next door and the clubs being owned by the same owners (at least that’s what I’ve read) it makes sense for them to only open both if there are enough customers to justify it.
Hoops tries to be a sports bar/strip club. The space is also narrow and deep and open to a second floor. The interior is bright, there are 10 flat screens behind the bar and another 5-6 behind the stage, all playing sports channels even though there was much on for a Sunday summer afternoon. The stage is raised about 4’ with a pole and a bit down from and along the same wall as the bar. It’s clearly visible from most of the barroom, including upstairs which I suppose you’d call an upper deck in this sports place. The materials are parquet floor wood and stainless metal, fully giving the sports bar vibe. The taps weren’t working, so I ordered a Modelo which was $8 I think.
Nobody was on stage and the dancers Jennifer (Hispanic or light skinned mixed race with some curves and nice bombs) and Portia (thinnish dark skinned girl), both wearing thongs and fishnet tops with 3” squares talked sports with the bartender. The bartender had a low cut half shirt and shorts that were pretty high up her ass crack that I admired while she and the dancers talked about the Yankees and Mets. They also had very strong opinions about the start of the NFL season and which away Giants game they were going to. It wasn’t an act, they knew their sports.
