Surprisingly Great Spot in Alaska
My wife and I were in Anchorage for a few nights and decided to check out the Bush Co., had a good time and ended up there on three nights, Sunday (2130 - 1115), Tuesday (2200 - 0115), and Wednesday (2200 - 0100). None of the nights were packed, but it was far from dead. There’s a $10 cover after 2100 Wed - Sat.
The club:
It leans heavily into the old west saloon/brothel aesthetics. It’s well done, and the club is clean and well kept up. There’s a large bar opposite the stage with some sitting. A large number of booths lining the room, with a few tables and chairs in front of the stage. The stage is a decent sized, round with a large pole in the center with seating around it.
Drinks:
They have 26 taps and a good number of bottles/cans, including local craft beers. Beers run about $7-9, soda was $4, but I didn’t get charged for most of the sodas my wife drank. Bottle of water was $4 or $5. Seems like pretty standard bar pricing these days.
Dancers:
There were around 15 dancers and I was really surprised with the talent here. Some really great dancers who put on a great show. Some variety in the dancers from Barbie types, a few thicker girls, couple of goth chicks, only a few pairs of fake tits. Mostly white, with a couple AA dancers, and some that appeared to be native. Looked mostly to be in mid-20s to early 30s with some outliers on both sides. Good energy and interactions with customers at the rail. Most had tattoos and half or more were pretty well covered in them. A couple of the dancers I’d put at 9s. Two songs each, going nude generally during the second song. They also ran one song between dancers with noone on stage.
Music:
Sunday was a lot of rock which was great, with some pop, hip hop, and pretty light rap. Tuesday was a different DJ and there was a lot more rap and hip hop. The original DJ was there on Wednesday and went back to more rock.
Dances:
I did not get any. But they’re all given in the booths, in the open. It was clear that it’s one way contact only (including on the stage). Seemed to be a good grind from what I saw, but I can’t imagine there’s anything close to extras here. They did have a sign that a VIP area was coming.
Assorted:
The first night we were there they checked the level of the pole and the second two nights the pole was gone. Not sure what happened, but it was a little disappointing. The dancers made the best of it and were still able to put on a good show without it.
TL/DR
Hot, tattooed, and talented dancers, really good beer selection at pretty standard bar prices, no cover Sun - Tue, and at least a good amount of rock music on two of the nights we went. Went in with low expectations and ended up being one our favorite clubs we’ve visited.
