Pleasant surprise on day shift at 390

For many years my two favorite clubs in Chicagoland have been Jimmy's and Club 390, both in Chicago Heights, but after a couple of bad OTC experiences with Jimmy's girls in combination with its ongoing transformation into an "urban" club, Club 390 remains my lone favorite. I hadn't been here for over two years because my travels haven't brought me to Chicago, but I managed to combine a stop here as part of a recent Chicago weekend.

I was driving up I-57 from Champaign and was actually headed for a guaranteed good time at Fantasy Gentlemen's Club in Hammond, but Google Maps warned me about a horrible traffic slowdown on I-80 in NW Indiana, so I happily redirected to Club 390 in Chicago Heights. Good choice!

I arrived around 2:30 on a Friday afternoon, paid no cover, and bought a Bud Light for $4 plus a $1 tip. (I could have gotten a burger and beer for $5 but had already eaten lunch.) In my 90 minutes or so in the club I saw girls of a variety of shapes and ethnicities: white, black, Latina, Italian, Eastern European -- no Asians this time. I find the remodeling that was perpetrated upon this once spacious club a few years ago to be a travesty, but that ship has sailed. The stage is now much smaller and there seems to be much less seating. What a fiasco!
