Up Against the Wall

A Chinese or Vietnamese woman probably in her 30s was performing on the single small stage when I arrived for my first visit to this small dark club. The club is basically one room with a U-shaped pathway- you walk in the door, pay your cover, walk along the bar and then turn around to the part of the room with booths and a small stage on the wall opposite the bar. if you continue down the aisle through the booths you come to the wall where the wall dances are. The club is not going to win any prizes for décor!

I sat near the stage and made eye contact with her. She seemed like she might be good for a wall dance (she offered), but I usually like to check out more dancers before deciding to spend my money. Most of the dancers were busy with other customers - some on the wall, others at the tables and at the bar. There seemed to be some touching by the customers along the wall, but it also seemed like most were regulars and knew the dancers. Being new to the club I had asked the guy who took my money at the door what I should know about the club. He said "no touching". From my observation, there were plenty of exceptions although nothing outrageous.

After not being impressed with the half dozen or so next dancers (mostly Black) to go on stage, the Asian woman approached again. It was a bit hard to understand her due to her accent but I knew what she was asking. I agreed. It was my first wall dance -mostly me standing against the wall and her rubbing and grinding against me for one song. I touched her a bit and she didn't stop me. My sense was that I probably could have gotten away with more but I didn't want to press my luck on my first visit to the club. One dance was enough for now.

When the dance was over I sat and watched a couple more dancers before leaving. My Asian friend was sitting at the bar with a coat over her skimpy outfit. She stood up and told me that she only worked there Wednesdays and Saturdays. I was going to ask her where I could find her the rest of the week but I didn't.

It wasn't a particularly great visit - the women were average and a bit old and most seemed to be busy with regulars. The wall dance was good and I would do it again with the Asian. Maybe if I am in the area on a weeknight I will try to see if the club is less busy and the dancers more accessible.
