This was my first visit since it became the Scarlet Lounge. There was security at the door and they were charging a $2 cover. The security guy said that it was a recent thing and that the cover was only on Friday/Saturday night. If you've ever been to this club, you'd probably agree that it isn't the type of place that really justifies any sort of cover at all. With so many options, I'll probably not be visiting on Fridays or Saturdays just out of principle.
That said, the quantity and quality of the dancers has gone up since my last visit a year or two back. There is still a wide variety of dancers rather than just the Portland typical. I didn't get a lap dance this visit, but a lot of the girls were hustling. From talking with the dancers, the dance price varies from dancer to dancer, so make sure to ask how much a dance is before you head to the booths.
Overall, it was a reasonable night out at a Portland dive bar strip club, but I'll probably have to try it again on a week night or Sunday to see how things are during off peak hours.
