Hugh place, not bad, but hard to get attention in the afternoon.

I had heard about Tootsies since it's the largest SC in FL, if not the entire US. I went there in the afternoon around 2:00 not knowing what to expect, except that it would be big, and it was. I drove into the parking lot, and there were plenty of parking spaces. I walked past two guys monitoring the front door, who told me to have a good time, and walked passed the unmanned front desk. There was no cover in the afternoon.

The place opens up into a cavernous area, with a huge main stage in the front with two poles, and an elevated VIP section to the right of the main stage. Since I had never been there, I strolled around for a little bit to get a lay of the land. Past the VIP section to the back of of the club are doors that go into a sports bar area with pool tables. There was almost no one in the sports bar area at that time of day, so I went back into the main area. I talked to a waitress, who was dressed in fish stockings and a one piece, and asked her how things worked in the afternoon. She had what I thought was a Russian accent. She was a little homely looking - not that cute. She said that the elevated VIP area on the main floor was open with no charge until the evening - she didn't say what time they started charging. Same thing for the second floor VIP area - no charge in the afternoon, but there's a fee for the 2nd floor at night. I walked up to the 2nd floor VIP section just to check it out since it didn't cost me anything. I had to walk behind the front desk to get to the stairs for the 2nd floor. There were several hot girls up there and a handful of guys. Some guys were chatting girls up, and some of the girls were just standing around. I got the feeling that the girls were looking for guys to spend some big money up there, which I wasn't prepared to do, so I beat it down to the 1st floor VIP section and found myself a seat.

I had heard that the wings were awesome, so I ordered some...at least, I tried to order some. Flagging down a waitress in VIP was almost impossible. Only 4 or 5 tables in VIP were occupied, but 3 of the groups seemed to be getting a lot more attention than me. They were groups of 3 or 4 guys, and they had 3 or 4 dancers with them already. When a girl in their group got called to the stage, she would leave for the main stage, and dance at one of the poles. Then she would move off to one of the three sides of the stage, and three girls would dance on the sides, and one girl would be on the main stage working the pole. It took a little bit before the girl finally worked her way around the stage and back to the VIP group. I watched all of this all the while trying to flag down a waitress. Again. And again. And again. I probably sat in VIP for about 20 minutes before I was able to order any food - but the main attraction isn't the food, right? The food was pretty good BTW. Perhaps it was because I was just sitting in VIP by myself and not in a group, but I didn't get any girls coming up to me for a while - they just seemed to want to hang where the party had already started with the large groups. Here's a tip - if you're sitting in 1st floor VIP, sit at a table along the rail closest to the stage. If you sit anywhere else, it's hard to see the girls dancing as your view will be blocked by others in front.
