At the laughing suggestion of a dancer friend, this was my first visit to a 7th Street club in Louisville. She came with me. I guess younger girls going in with middle aged men isn't that rare, because nobody said a word. Or maybe it was because she really did know the bouncer, who was a big bald guy who looked like he could straight arm an anvil. She says he's a pretty decent guy though. I've been going to other, supposedly "classier" clubs, including hers. I've had a good time at those clubs, but it was time to take it up a level.

A few male friends of mine had always told me that the clubs on 7th Street were nothing but dive money sinks. I don't know if they were deliberate lying, or just mis-informed. Blue Diamond doesn't have much parking out front, but there's more in the back. It's clean looking outside, and first impression was the same inside. It's fairly small compared to someplace like Godfather. The bar is on one side and there's four or five tables with some weird couches along the wall. They aren't very comfortable. The chairs by the tables were though. The bartender was not the hottest girl in the club. Not by a long shot. Kind of a dumpy looking blond. And pushy as hell.

The drink crap in this town still amazes me sometimes. It's the only place I've been that has it. Drinks for the dancers are $24! You can get more expensive ones if you are an idiot. My coke was $5 for a small can, not even the standard 12 ounce one. The drink my companion got was $10, but I don't remember what she ordered.
