Thursday evening at Bouzouki

This review is of a visit to Bouzouki Club in downtown Detroit on Thursday May 16, 2019 from about 9:15 to 10:30 pm. The club is in an old brick building in Greektown. It didn’t appear to have any parking of its own. I walked about 4 blocks from my hotel. The entrance and combined coat check is at the right end of the long side of a rectangular space. Cover was $6, with a hand stamp that I presume allows one to reenter. As you enter the bar is to the right along the short side of the building. The stage is a sort of bowtie shape in the center of the room with 4 poles. There are a mix of tables and chairs against the stage as well as individual chairs at the tip rail. There were some couches and booths back from the stage, some of which had reserved signs on them. There were a few of what looked like private rooms in the back. The lap dance area was in the far back corner of the room,, raised slightly above the main level. The club was not very crowded, the Tigers game had been that afternoon so any crowd from that presumably was already gone. The crowd skewed toward the older side, no female patrons. Ceilings were low, some flashing lights, music was very loud with the bass especially so. Initially one dancer did 2 song topless sets, but later they went to 2 dancers on the stage at a time. There was a small additional stage that was not used. Over the stage were TV monitors that displayed the name of the song being played and the artist, along with a music video related to the song, or if there wasn’t a specific video a kind of soft-porn video. One would wish this was visible from the lap dance area to help in counting songs but it wasn’t.

There were eventually about 20 dancers, about 2/3 white, 1/3 AA. Not the top level of beauty for the most part, a range of sizes and shapes with some overweight and some with very large boobs. An older woman, probably 30’s, B cups, latched onto me early on. No server had come by yet so she went to the bar to get me a generic water, don’t know the price since she didn’t charge anything for it. After a reasonable conversation and a “handshake” we went back to the lap dance area. This is an open area in the rear with no dividers between couches so not very private especially if there had been many couples there. However Ii was dark and no bouncers came by. Topless dances with good two way touch, pushed boobs into my face and encouraged feeding, quite handsy, shift sticking and unbuttoned my shirt to stick her hands in and rub my nipples. We did 6 songs at $25 per song and I gave a small tip. Back at the stage another woman tried to get me to go back with pretty good attention and handshake but I declined.

So this is a mid-level place. Mileage was fairly high but no hint of extras. I spent about $180. Compared to Legends down the street which I went to the previous evening Bouzouki is at a lower level both in physical space and dancer looks. Mileage was similar in both. Bouzouki was a bit better in value for money. The women in Bouzouki were more aggressive but in a good way. Somewhat opposite to what I expected I think I liked Bouzouki somewhat better due to the somewhat lower prices and more friendly women.
