A Little Birdie Told Me Not to Come Here. I Didn’t Listen.
Part 1 - Does Parking Really Get Its Own Paragraph?
I was approaching this club on Kapiolani Boulevard from the other side of the street, and there was so much crap parallel parked I couldn’t make out the driveway until I was almost past the club. So I told myself I’d go down a little ways and u-turn. After driving another couple of miles I finally gave up on a u-turn and drove around a block to head back in the right direction. When I got up to the club I still had trouble picking out the driveway but managed to snag a spot right by the door to the club. So for a moment I felt lucky to have gotten a parking spot. But only for a moment.
There was a short, older Asian fellow standing there who demanded $10 for parking. That was more than I read about in reviews, but as I realized later he may not have been directly affiliated with the club. Femme Nu shares its location with a restaurant, and that guy might have been patrolling the small amount of head in parking to get some revenue for the other business. I went to walk in the door on the Kapiolani side, and the guy motioned me around to the other side of the building. Apparently the little dude couldn't count cause he gave me over $15 back in change. I kept the money, of course.
