Where I always seem to end up
Several cities claim to be the strip club capitals of the world, but from the San Fernando Valley to the City of Industry, LA is loaded with every type of strip club imaginable. The Spearmint Rhino is right in the middle in every way possible: the girls are right in the middle in terms of looks and action, the club layout is fine without being anything special, and even the location is right in the middle of downtown. It's never a club I target, but one I always seem to end up at due to its central location and consistency.
My most recent visit found about 7-8 ladies dancing, and probably a dozen gents in the club. The club had its usual light level of just a few shades brighter than blackout dark, making it hard to appreciate the ladies on the stage but giving the club a semblance of "atmosphere." Past visits to the Rhino have resulted in a constant unwelcome flood of ladies asking me to buy them drinks, but this visit was much more relaxed, with probably a visit every 10-15 minutes. The third lady didn't seem to take my hints and planted herself for 15 minutes despite me showing little interest, and I finally (and foolishly) bought a dance just to move on. I tipped generously, which had the desired effect of leading to word spreading that I was willing to spend. Sure enough, the lady I had my eye on soon approached and offered a dance. I agreed, and very high mileage was proposed (but declined). While she spent much of the dance trying to get me to reconsider, she did turn in a servicable dance nonetheless, and I found myself reconsidering my rejection of more mileage.
At this point the action died down in the club for awhile, and I ended up leaving with a few dollars in my wallet, a rare occurrence for me. Nothing is making me aching to go back, but nonetheless I'm sure I'll find myself back at the Rhino soon.
