Sad. Just Sad.

This was my first time visiting Christie's, and even though North Carolina clubs usually leave a lot to be desired, I approached it with an open mind. I arrived about 9:30 on a Friday night to a large parking lot with only a handful of cars. Plenty of free parking.

The club appeared to occupy a large, stand-alone building. As I approached the door, there were three fairly attractive girls sitting out front, enjoying the evening air. I joked about them being the welcoming committee; they laughed, jumped up, and scurried inside. Once inside, the girl at the counter asked if I had been there before, and when I said no, she said it was a membership club (like most establishments in NC that sell more liquor than food) and that it would cost $200 to join. As my jaw hit the floor, she said that a one-time entry fee of $7.00 would suffice this evening. I've had to pay a membership fee at other NC clubs, but it's more like $15.

Once inside I realized that the three-girl welcoming committee was the sum total of dancers working at that hour – and they had been outside because there were no customers inside. I got a bottle of water at the bar ($5 plus tip) and settled in at a table not far from the stage. The three girls danced a couple of songs each, taking nothing off even though I did a bit of tipping. I asked the first girl about private dances, and she said that for her, they start at two for $60. As I tipped the second girl (or maybe it was the third), I learned that you're not allowed to touch the girls while they're on stage. OK then.
