Weekend Club

The Lumberyard II in Cedar Rapids is a weekend club, and a later evening club at that. During the weekdays they do not have a large number of dancers or customers but on the weekends (especially Saturday) they get a larger crowd and anywhere from 12 to 20 dancers.

The club got remodeled after a fire a year or two ago. They sort of have a log cabin type of theme going on with an industrial steel siding shed look on the outside, but the inside has log walls and rustic looking deco. The private dance area is called the "wood shed", etc. You get the idea.

The club actually has several different things going on inside. You have to walk in an exterior entry way, pay $5 to get in before ten on the weekend ($12 or 15 regular), and then you enter the club on one end. Above you is the staircase up to the dancer's locker room. In front of you is a long rectangular stage with three poles. To the left are very low couches that you absolutely sink almost to the floor in; and on the right along the wall is a series of high tables and chairs.
