Mint - Party Atmosphere

It has been a couple years since I have made it to the Mint. Clearly chronicled on this site over the years - the Mint is what most would consider a local "hood" club. I have to be honest and say the atmosphere there can be a bit too much for me on the thug side - especially in the evenings. Thus my reluctance to go there frequently over the years. On this Friday - there was no cover in the afternoon and no charge for parking. A great start. One major beef I have for the Mint is the parking situation there - simply put it is a shit show. The main parking lot fills up quick and they end up parking cars on top of each other and blocking other cars from leaving. Consequently, they will ask for your keys so they can move your car if it becomes necessary. I said firmly no that I would only be there a short time and where I would be sitting. I have heard from dancers and customers with issues with the parking attendants and their cars. I would caution against turning over your keys. Proceed at your own risk. The door man carefully frisked and scanned for weapons at the door. I give them a ton of credit for this.Upon entering the club I was slightly surprised to see how full the club was for early afternoon - but it was a Friday/weekend kick off. It was a major party scene and a sausage fest for the most part. There appeared to be about 20 girls working and a ton of customers. Normally this would be a real downer but most of the customers were in party mode and only a few were getting dances. Since they remodeled the club - they removed the back bar - small room in the back of the club. I used to like the room as it was a way to get away from the commotion in the front room for some good dances. Now that this room is removed - dances are in the main area with a ton of customers singing and dancing to the music and of course smoking weed in the open all around you. They do have some private rooms in the back which I was told was $25 for a short period of time but that it was incredibly dark in there. I went there to meet up with one specific dancer - so it was easy for me to get some attention right away - had I not had a contact there not sure I would have found a winner with so many regulars and so few girls. Unbelievable as it is - dances are still available for $5 and they are fully naked and high contact depending upon the girl and your willingness to tip. On this day I thought from what I could see the dancer quality was a little down for what I have seen in the past but there were definitely a few good lookers. I found the club just a little too busy to enjoy - I would go on a slow weekday early week - next time - if I was to return any time soon. I only stayed for a short while and of course it was a nightmare leaving the club as the attendants did not have control of incoming traffic and it took a while to even get out of the parking lot - major annoying. Overall - great value but not for the faint of heart.
