After a long hiatus
For the longest time this was my favorite club, but I got bored with the place about a year ago and haven't been back since. I was in the area on a Thursday afternoon and decided to see if anything has changed. Well, first thing I noticed that had changed was that the place doesn't open up until 3. It used to be open earlier, offering a buffet for lunches on Wednesdays. Seeing as how it was 2:30, I decided to grab something to eat elsewhere and come back later. I got back around 5:30. No cover. Nobody even at the door. I used to be impressed that there would always be a bouncer at the door to greet me with a handshake. Made me feel welcome.
Next thing I noticed was how dark the place was. At first I thought my eyes only needed time to adjust from coming in from outside, but after 15 minutes, it was still pretty dark and there were some annoying pin-dot strobe lights circling around. Next thing I noticed was how empty the place was. Maybe only three or four other customers, all sitting at the bar at the opposite end of the room. They all seemed like regulars. There were maybe five or six entertainers working and most of them were sitting with the aforementioned regulars at the bar. They were all very young, about college age. Two or three of them looked high, barely able to keep their eyes open (or their heads off the bar).
Just the whole vibe of the place was drab. Dancers were giving no effort on stage, not that I blame them (no one was paying attention to them). Bouncers were sitting at tables eating. The DJ was annoying. I didn't recognize the bartender or the rub girl, as the two I remembered used to be reason alone to visit the place. I had one girl approach me in the 30 minutes I stayed there, but she was not my type, nor were any of the girls that were there. Like I said, they were either high or seemed very new to the business (hence, not much fun).
