"Found time" - but disappointment at my first stop

I had the gift of "found time" Sunday, and on short notice too, so I scampered out to enjoy a sudden free evening.

(For those who don't know the concept: for those of us who are relationship-anchored "found time" is the "gift" that happens when the S.O. decides she needs to make a special trip to see her Mom on the other side of the state.

Since retirement I no longer have the easy latitude of hours-long SC sojourns that I enjoyed when I was working. These days I need a darn good excuse to disappear for a few hours. So these trips, which I so strongly encourage in the interest of (her) maintaining (her) family harmony, really are a gift for me. Hence the term, "found time".)
