I made a couple stops at Bobby’s Bar the last few weeks. The first visit was at 23:45 on a Saturday night. The club was packed with patrons and there were no open tables or chairs. There were ten entertainers working: five African-American, three Hispanic, and two Caucasian. The second visit was at 16:45 on a Friday. The club was only half full, and there were seven entertainers working: three African-Americans, two Hispanics, one skinny 40+ Asian, and one chubby late 30’s Caucasian. I call the ladies entertainers rather than dancers because almost none of them ever get up on the stage in the corner. They mainly circulate around the room talking and drinking with the patrons. They are also not strippers because they do not remove any clothing. Dancers must wear lingerie or bikinis at minimum.

Bobby’s is located in a nook in a strip mall to the right of The Ink Spot Tattoos and Famsa and to the left of CSL Plasma. The windows are all blacked out except for some neon beer signs. The ATM is in the vestibule as you enter. It has a $5 fee and a maximum withdrawal of $200 per swipe. The bar is on the right wall. There are four pool tables to the left. The left back corner has a stage that is less than a foot off the ground with a central pole. I only saw it used by one of the skinnier black dancers on my Saturday night visit. Its location is not conducive to stage tipping or presentation. There are two high top tables right in front of it, essentially blocking it from view. Straight ahead are five video slot machines in an “L” formation. Behind the wall of gambling machines is where lap dances take place. The music plays off of a TouchTunes jukebox. Patrons are allowed to play music on it, not just the ladies. A Budweiser was $3.50. There is never a cover charge to enter.

I was quoted $20 for a lap dance by an older blonde named Desiree who had been working at Bobby’s for six and a half years. When I refused, I was quoted two for $30. When I refused, I was quoted one for $15. There is obviously room to negotiate at this bar. Most of the ladies also offer massages for $10. While it is a bummer that dancers cannot remove clothing, you can grope them all over. There are no limits in that regard. Some dancers will break the rules and show you their breasts.
