For anyone who has been curious about going to this roughshod bar on the outskirts of downtown Minneapolis, you should finally bite the bullet and go in before the year is out. In case you haven’t heard, the longtime owner died last year, and while ownership has transferred to his son, it is believed that the city will not transfer the dancer license to him. I don’t know if he is going to fight it in court, but if he doesn’t or if he does and loses, 2019 will be the last year BJ’s will have strippers in its bar.

It’s a damn shame. Where else can you see a girl’s tits without needing to pay a cover? And the girls are good, even if they might be there only a short time. There seemed to be a lot of turnover last year, but the newcomers are young and hot. This is the Twin Cities, so there’s no hanky-panky allowed (there is a huge poster saying that you cannot touch the dancers), but there are a bunch of other places around town where you’ll get ripped off worse for $20.

If I had my way, BJ’s would be on the National Register of Historic Places. With the death of 22nd Ave. Station (now a really good restaurant, by the way), BJ’s is the last of its kind in the area. In fact, I’m not sure if there is another no-cover topless bar in the United States – or the world, come to think of it. So stop in, buy a can of beer (no taps here) and see this one-of-a-kind dive bar before it becomes just like any other dive bar.
