Changes At Atlantis

Atlantis has been my #1 "go-to" club for many years for a few reasons: 1) mixed ethnicity but largely African-American dancers (which I like) yet not a hood club 2) average attractiveness of the dancers has been good with usually a couple gems in there 3) high mileage dances often available depending on the dancer 4) club is spacious, rarely over-crowded 5) dancers are usually friendsly willing to hang out, and the hustle of the majority of them is low key. However, some changes at Atlantis. During the day (up until the early evening), dancers are not required to be onstage. As a result, many dancers don't bother to go onstage(often hanging in the dressing room), especially when there aren't a lot of customers. So the stage is often empty for periods of time. This is a bad thing since a) I don't come to Atlantis to watch t.v. and nurse a beer b) less opportunity to suss out the talent. The other thing I've noticed in my last few visits, is the mileage has been a little less. Not bad, mind you, still better than 90% of Philadelphia clubs but for a while there it was insanely good. I don't know if that was luck of the draw or what. Because of these factors, business seems to be down, and that is starting to affect the number of dancers who come to work there. In short a downward spiral is possible and I'd hate to see Atlantis go down. I will say on my previous visit, a dancer took off her top AND bottom as soon we got in the semi-private area... and the mileage was good--though she had her limits. But on this day I came to see Slim, who is reliably sweet, friendly and gives a pretty good dance. Happily she was there and I was able to connect pretty quickly as there were only about half a dozen other customers. After some pleasant small talk, we headed for the $20 semi-private room which we had to ourselves and I enjoyed a hot little session with her. My rule is it only takes one hot dancer to make a club if you connect so my trip wasn't wasted. But hope Atlantis reconsiders its afternoon policy so business can rebound.
