Continuing my investigation of strip clubs...

Continuing my investigation of strip clubs in the New England area, tonight I stopped at two well-known clubs in Providence, RI. I will be checking out two other Providence clubs in a couple of days. Club Fantasies is a nicely designed club, with quite a variety of spaces both for lounging-about voyeurism and private dances. The club seemed neat and clean and the men's room was well-maintained. The downstairs provides topless entertainment. There is a fairly large central stage, elevated only a foot or two above floor level, and a smaller satellite stage. Only the central stage was active when I was there, which was early on a Friday evening. There were typically three dancers parading about at any given time, all sharing the central stage. Upstairs, the dancers performed nude, provided that there was an active tipper on hand. Otherwise, they kind of lolled about waiting for a tipper to appear. The performances both downstairs and upstairs barely qualified as dancing, consisting more of posturing for whichever patrons at the rail were actively tipping. The gals sometimes made brushing contact with the patrons but the patrons were prohibited from touching the dancers in any way while they were on stage. I approached one of the more attractive of the dancers and laid down a $20 tip, which was rather extravagant, just to see what she would provide while on stage. My strategy was not fully effective, however, since it later turned out that the dancer was anticipating that I would be expecting change. Nevertheless, she provided some excellent close-up exposure, top and bottom (but touching was still off limits). I spoke to a waitress and a bouncer about the club's touch policy. The waitress demurred, suggesting I speak to the dancers. The bouncer was more forthcoming, informing me that there was no touching for stage performances but touching in the open booths (for private dances) and closed booths (champagne rooms) was at the discretion of each dancer.

There was a $5 or $10 cover charge (I've forgotten which) for entry into the club and another $10 fee to go upstairs to the nude area. In my opinion, the downstairs is not really worth a visit in its own right, so you really should plan on paying both cover charges if you go to this club. The drinks were $5-$6, even for a Pepsi, which is more than I've been used to paying. I ordered some wings and a sandwich. The wings were excellent and the sandwich pretty good. The food prices were quite reasonable. Downstairs, you can purchase a private dance for $25, but none of the ladies downstairs were interesting enough with their G-strings in place to tempt me. Upstairs, private dances run $60, while 15 minutes in the Champagne Room costs $130-$140. About one-hundred of that goes to the lady you choose and the rest to the club. In my opinion, the Champagne Room is a better deal at this particular club than the nude private dances, provided you've landed a lady that has real appeal for you.

The physical attractiveness of most of the dancers was less than I've come to expect at strip clubs. Since I prefer a few expensive, high-contact outings with very attractive dancers over many dances with marginally attractive partners, I'm personally less interested in the overall quality of the choices than whether there are a few, or at least one, that really gain my interest. I'm partial to dancers with trim, tight torsos and small to medium breasts and only about three out of the twenty or so women that I observed either on stage or working the floor were up to my excitability threshold. My top choice was a lovely, petite, blond-haired Brazilian girl, who looked like she wasn't yet legal, but, of course, she actually was. Apparently my preference was shared by some of the other patrons, since I had to wait for her to become available while she catered to two other men, successively, in the booths. While waiting, I found myself fending off invitations from several dancers for whom I felt no inclination.
