Saturday night at Dean's Gold

I visited Dean’s Gold on Saturday Feb 16, 2019 from about 8:30 to 11 pm. The club is easy to find at the intersection of two main roads and has a large parking lot with only a few spaces near the entrance coned off for valet. The main entrance is about a quarter of the way along the long side of the rectangular building. There appeared to be a second (VIP?) entrance at the end of the building. There are two main bars to the right of the entrance, one perpendicular to the long axis of the building and the other parallel to it toward the back wall. The main stage is across from this second bar along the wall where the entrance is, and appears to have the dressing room behind it. The rest rooms (wasn’t in them) are behind this bar. There is also a smaller bar, the Champagne bar, on a raised space near the right end of the building. There are also some other rooms with their own bar and stage to the left of the entrance but these weren’t being used while I was there. A lot of tables between the bar and main stage. Smoking was allowed but not particularly bad. The music was at a reasonable volume and transitions being songs obvious. A sign over the stage proclaims this to be the “Ultimate Gentleman’s Club” and is probably the most fancy I’ve seen and probably the first I’ve given a 10 for the physical plant.

Arriving at 8:30 it was still very slow with only half a dozen customers and an equal number of dancers, and no cover being collected. Dancing on the stage didn’t start until 9. Numbers gradually increased and was getting pretty crowded by the time I left about 11. When I left there were 2 dancers at a time on the main stage and another on a small stage opposite the Champagne bar. I had a generic bottle of water for $6. There wasn’t much of a drink hustle. There were seats at the stage rails, not used all that much. Dancers did 3 song sets with the usual progression of clothed, topless, nude. There was some good pole work, with the poles high enough to allow this.

By 11 there were around 50 dancers, enough to go around certainly. They were generally reasonably young, fit and of various body types. The largest contingent were Latinas but some others too. I talked with a white Florida native from Pensacola and a Russian who had been in the US for 9 years mostly in New York. No oriental or AA, although some of the Latinas could be called WOC’s. Lap dances were $20/song payable to the dancer afterwards. None of the dancers asked for extra tips or inflated song counts but some tended to start in the middle of a song although the songs were long enough that mostly this wasn’t much of a problem. There were two open, no privacy lap dance rooms with couches which also had fancy tables with the nice touch of bowls of mints on them. I had dances with about 7 dancers, none more than 2 songs each. They were 2 way touch with a decent grind, touching allowed except the kitty. The dancers didn’t touch the customer below the waist except for one dancer who did a bit of stick shifting but was trying to upsell the private room at the time. I didn’t ask prices of the private.
