Disappointed
I stopped in because a cf from the church had text me she was working there now. Had a bad feeling from the beginning and it didn't get better. Fortunately, it wasn't because of of the sketchiness of the neighborhood.
There are two parking lots in the back. The closest one to the door was a $5 valet lot and the one in the back was free. Both lots seem to be well lighted. They have a guy riding around in a golf cart who will give you a ride to the door. My problem with him was when he approached and offered me a ride I was only about 10 yards from the front door. After I turned him down, he asked for a tip to watch my car. This made me a little uneasy now for not only the neighborhood, but now the staff.
The thick door girl also did not give me the best feeling. When she asked for the $15 door fee, I asked about the charge and the time. She began to enlighten me what the times and cover charges were and that I was three minutes late from the reduced cover. I acknowledged she was right about the time, but asked for some leniency since the Houston traffic was terrible and I was from out of town. She then began writing something on the back of a business card and handed it to me. It was the times for the corresponding cover like I was illiterate. I just went ahead and paid her and she then replied most leave her at least a $5 tip. I just looked at her and replied maybe on the way out.
The club itself is very dated, but you can tell where it was probably very upscale in it's heyday. There are two levels, but I never went upstairs since it was listed as a VIP area. There were two spacious stages opposite of each other on the main floor with booths lining one wall opposite of the L-shaped bar to the right of the entrance . The bartender was somewhat strange since the whole time of my visit there was only one and was a male. I can't remember a gentleman's club/cabaret/strip club that I've visited where there wasn't at least one female bartender.
On the other side of about a 5 ft dividing wall along one side of the bar was a pool table and enclosed tv viewing room. I remember this club's ad was touting itself as a place to watch sports. I can see where it actually probably is pretty good to do that in the enclosed tv viewing room or even out on the main floor where there were several tv's and a large projection screen by the second main stage. Baby Dolls Dallas, you could learn from this and replace your first generation flat screen tv's.
