Car Show Sunday

Sunday afternoon after a visit to the Porthole, I drove to Diamond Dolls. As it happened, there was a car show in the parking lot which had attracted lots of sweet rides and spectators. The vehicles were nice enough that I lingered outside to admire them, but soon resumed my initial mission. Same $2 to park, no cover. Perhaps as a consequence of the show, the club was packed—it looked more like a Friday happy hour than a Sunday afternoon. Three dancers on the main stage, one on the floor-level stage, and almost every bar seat filled. DD is a smaller venue that seems to feel full quickly, but this day it was packed--the only empty bar seat was on the back side of the main bar near the friction booths. As other reviews have noted, the dancer cohort is primarily Latina, and attractive (most solidly in the 7-8 range). This day, they were working the room like the pros they are. Given my location, I had fun watching one dancers lead their customers into the booths, all of which reassured me that DD girls were staying true to their mission.

I was able to audition a couple of beauties via $10 bar-side dances, but didn’t find the vibe I was looking for and sent them on their way without making a trip behind the curtain. Even though I closed my tab before finding a special someone, the visual entertainment was top-notch and there were plenty of other customers having a great afternoon. Yes, the dancers can be mercenary, and the place quickly gets crowded, but DD remains on my South Florida rotation.
