Decent Food, Decent Dances
This club bills itself at a “restaurant and cabaret.” I had just arrived in Houston, was hungry, and this place is near the airport, so why not? I arrived about 6:30 p.m. There were a lot of cars (mostly trucks, actually) in the parking lot. No charge to park.
The cover charge was $5. The club is upscale, although it looks smaller on the inside than it looks from the outside. There is a large center stage, bars on either side, and a second story mezzanine area. Despite the large number of vehicles in the parking lot, the club was mostly empty. There were a couple of guys at the left bar (the only one open) and three or four guys sitting at tables. I didn’t go upstairs to the mezzanine, but from what I could see it didn’t look too busy up there, either.
I usually sit at the bar, but since I intended to order dinner, I sat at one of the small tables with white tablecloths and wingback chairs surrounding the stage. I ordered the chicken fettucini, which was pretty good and reasonably priced at $18. I don’t remember individual drink prices since I ran a tab for dinner, but the food and a couple of drinks totaled $32 before tip, so drinks were about $7 each.
