Searching for the next Paradizios

I loved the old Paradizios - plenty of inexpensive barside action with no crowd and a laid back feel. Everything from just sipping a beer and chatting, to lap dances, handies or full service was all available and totally left to your own discretion with nobody pushing or hustling you. When that closed in February, it was a big loss as there was nothing like it. Vic's is close, but it's crowded and much more of a hustle vibe.

So I have been searching for the next Paradizios and thought I would try out BU to see how it measured up. As I walked up to bar a "dancer" (I say this because nobody was dancing) sits down next to me. She was round and not terrible looking. Since she was by far the best of the five or so there, I started chatting with her. The bar maid, who I assume was an owner, was very unfriendly ànd took my order for a beer and brouht me two, one for the girl as well. While it was only an extra five spot, I wasn't pleased. We agreed on a handie for twenty with another twenty five for the house. We head back to the kitchen, which is really an indoor junkyard with an opening and no door. She gets to work and it's not bad. When she completes the task at hand, I am ushered out a back door right into the parking lot.

While this was a bit pricey for the service, the lack of anything remotely approaching a friendly atmosphere and unattractive ladies will keep me from returning. This is clearly not the next Paradizios. The search will have to continue.
