Good optics...

was sucked into a highly promoted ("the biggest event of the year' per the DJ) holiday extravaganza last month promising twenty to thirty dancers, free buffet, reduced VIPs, etc etc. at @ eight o'clock there were exactly three of us in attendance viewing a lackluster lineup of a half dozen unfortunates, who were, of course, ten times more bored than us. i admit, they try, sending two or three girls at a time on stage for the longest sets on earth, when there are exactly no, or one, stage side seats occupied. there were aluminum trays of meatballs, and pasta and bread in the corner. but at least twenty dancers were missing and the reduced VIPs couldn't be given away. couple years ago the lineups were stocked with younger, tighter, prettier gurls, who've mostly been replaced by older, somewhat flabbier GND types-possibly a winter vs out of school summer cycle, but there's a growing perception that the exorbitant cover is not justified. it's currently twenty bucks all day everyday except sunday before seven when it's only fifteen. on top of that, your mandatory water or cola will be an additional five. you may bring beer (four only) or wine but will still be forced to purchase the soft beverage. in spite of all that, i keep returning for those diamonds in the rough-there's always one or two-on full display in unusually good lighting (for a SC) up close and personal...so put on your heavy coat, raid your piggy bank, brace for disappointment and pop in...you might get lucky...
