It was decent

It was an unusually slow night because of the holidays, as evidenced by the fact that bar seats were not too hard to find. That is a rarity on a night time visit to CD. There were still plenty of guys there, but less than usual.

For starters, I didn’t spend anything to get in because I arrived by taxi. For anyone staying downtown, this deal cannot be beat – the waived cover basically pays for the cab ride. Also, cabbies don’t mind the short ride from downtown because the club also pays them for bringing you in.

I bought several of those $20 drink cards over the night, which provides $25 worth of club dollars. I got some ones so I could tip the bartender in cash. Each double Jack on the rocks was $10.50, which is not unreasonable for a northeast club, especially using discounted drink dollars. They even comped me a drink after my first two, which apparently is standard practice. The only reasons I gave this club a 6 on the value front are because: (1) the shot pours were a bit stingy; and (2) they made it difficult to get a glass of water to accompany my hard alcohol without being charged separately for it. I really hate the water charge gimmick when I am already paying a lot for hard alcohol.
