Had a Nice Time, But It's a Locals Only Kind of Joint

This place is more like a neighborhood bar, possibly a dive bar, but run professionally.

Many TUSCLers would feel uncomfortable here. If you’re not OK with black people, or places where you might run into a rough crowd in or around the club you can skip this place. Otherwise, it was pretty chill. No cover during an afternoon visit. Nothing fancy. The place is really the opposite of fancy, and some of it looks like it was put together by hand with some hammers, nails, and reclaimed wood. But...let me tell you the bar was stocked up like nobody’s business and that 7 and 7 double the bartender poured just about fucked me up. Plus it was cheap. Don’t ask me how much it was because it was a while ago and I forgot, but at the places I usually go that would be a $20 drink and it was no more than $7 that time of day. There were some small tables and chairs set around the half of the club where the bar, but it was pretty empty so I wasn’t concerned about a seat.

There are three doors in the main area, but the one by the bar the customers aren’t supposed to use. What that means for most people is they will be walking around the long way to the side of the club facing the busier street. I parked on the side street because that time of day there wasn’t parking in front of the building. To repeat, this isn’t a great neighborhood. There are a few spaces in a small parking lot beside the club, but I wanted to have something where I could just get in the car and drive without having to do a lot of maneuvering to get moving. There is a big do not park sign at the first house on the right past the lot, so be aware not to park there. Back inside the club, there are two pool tables near the front door. There’s also a door to a little smoking area just off the front door. The pool tables are pay to play, and the day I was there the bartender had to open them up to get them working. But they worked.
