Pleasantly Surprised

I was in west Michigan on business, and struggling to decide where to go for entertainment since the strip club scene is relatively limited (unless you’re willing to drive three hours to Detroit, which I wasn’t). Based on reviews, I decided to check out Angels in Kalamazoo because it’s supposed to be the best option around. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised.

I arrived after 9pm. Parking was free, and cover was low (I think I paid around 5 dollars). Inside, the place was average size but clean, with a long stage spanning the center and poles on each end. Music was a nice mix of different genres, which was a plus because I’ve grown tired of the nonstop hip hop and rap at some of the other clubs I visit.

I was surprised at how busy it was for a Tuesday night. I soon discovered that the reason for this was the club’s weekly amateur night, which seems to get more contestants than most places. I decided to wait and watch the show, and in the meantime I checked out the house dancers. The quality of girls was higher than I expected. All were young and fit, looks ranging from 7-9, mostly white with a few A.A. Each danced on stage for a couple songs, first at one pole then the other, then after their set they’d circulate through the crowd trying to give the standard quick boob shake for an extra couple bucks.
