I think they don’t want to be a strip club.
Trixie’s has gone through a lot of changes recently. The current incarnation has a live music venue on the left, where the original full nude, no alcohol club of a decade or so ago was. The right side, which used to be a bikini club in that same era, is now the strip club.
On the night I visited, there was a music (well, “music”), act performing and the volume level was extreme. Even with the doors between the two facilities shit tightly, I could hear it.
In an apparent attempt to offset that, they had the music in the strip club playing at such a high volume, it was virtually impossible to talk without yelling in each other’s ears. The ceiling is at least two, possibly three, stories up, and the music was loud enough to fill all of it.
