Illinois taxes and shitty management end up ruining a great time.
I’ve been coming here since around 1995, and I’ve watched this club go through various changes in that time. Some have worked, some haven’t. But I they've really fucked it up with this last batch of changes.
As the previous review mentioned, the dancers are no longer nude on stage. It’s a house rule now. Also, the $10.00 table dances on the main floor are now also only topless. For a nude table dance, you have to sit in the somewhat elevated “VIP” areas where dances have always been, and still are, $20. The chairs are more comfy and again, up there, the dances are nude. The private dances are also still nude. Sadly, they recently raised the prices of the private dances in the little curtained-off booths: 3/$100 – 6/$175 – 30 min/$250 – 1 hour/$400. There are hour-long dances and two bigger VIP rooms, but I’ve never went for one.
Here’s the problem: The club got hit with a fine for back taxes from Chicago / Cook county for “entertainment taxes” that they were not paying, so they raised the prices for everything to catch up. I talked to a dancer I’ve known for a few years and she tried to explain the changes as simply “something new” but it’s obvious that the Admiral has decided to join the ranks of a lot of clubs and milk their customers. The no-nudity on stage and on the main floor is a clear communication that they are not going to “give it away”. They want you to pay for it (as if you weren’t already paying for it…) The girls have always been able to keep all of the 10 bucks for floor dances while they have to split the 20 buck vip floor dances. The club knows that a lot of guys are gonna pop the extra 10 bucks for the nude floor dance, and now that the club has decided to eliminate any other options for a nude show, it’s pretty obvious what the strategy is.
