2 nights, 2 different verdicts on Flashdancers
Came to the relocated Flashdancers on two consecutive nights over the weekend.
I had previously been to Private Eyes which was run out of the new Flashdancers space on 45 St. That place was quaint and kind of old school with very friendly dancers and a nice neighborhood bar vibe among the staff. Mild remodeling and upgrading of lights and sound seem to have happened with the change. But I don't know if it's an improvement.
First visit was a Saturday right about midnight. $20 cover, $13 beer. The place was packed. I was seated at a long bench in the main room, but we were so close to the tables by the stage, people could barely get through. It's generous to call the stage a stage. It's a small oval walkway around a big tiled pillar in the middle of the room. There is a short pole on one end of the oval. Four dancers at a time were shimmying on this thing, but I wouldn't call it dancing. The space is so tight that when few guys made it rain, bills were fluttering down on tables around the stage.
